This is from one of my favorite series: The Mortal Instruments. Cassandra Clare has several series dedicated to the Shadowhunter world that she created. It's full of adventure, fantasy, fighting evil demons, and a little romance.
This series sounds weird, but stay with me. It's about a girl who finds out she is part troll. They have a tradition where when a troll (they call them Trylle) is born, the child is switched at birth with a human child. The main character is brought into the Trylle Kingdom because the evil Trylle are after her. This was the first series I fell in love with.
I am currently halfway through the second book in the series and it is so good! I read this book on a train ride and could not put it down. It's another fantasy book where some people have red blood and are considered poor, low class people. Those with silver blood are rich, rulers, and have powers. The main character has red blood, but learns she has powers too!
